This week is our Mother's Day Brunch from 9-11am.

Deb McIsaac will be our speaker, so we are looking forward to having her "back at MOPS" for the day and hearing from her.

If you signed up to bring food items, you will receive 20 TICKETS (instead of the usual 10 tickets) if you bring your food items by 9am!!

MOPS Meeting April 21st

We will be meeting this Wednesday, April 21st, 9-11 am.

The Satellite Sisters are hosting refreshments and cleanup this week- extra hands are always appreciated if you can stay and help!

Connie VanKleeck will be our speaker, and will be talking to us about Personalities.

Also, another reminder that this is the LAST week to turn in your donations for the Mother's Day Brunch Baskets that we'll be raffling. Here are the themes based on which group you are in:

Super Novas: Spa items
Galaxy Girls: Garden items
Satellite Sisters: Treats/goodies
Heavenly Bodies: Kitchen items

We'll be passing around the Brunch food sign-up sheet again as well, in case you missed it last time.

**If you have any baskets you no longer need, we would greatly appreciate those too!!

MOPS Meeting: April 7th, 9-11am

We will be meeting this Wednesday, April 7, from 9-11am.

The Galaxy Girls are hosting this week for refreshments and cleanup.

We will also be hearing from Pastor Wes and Karen Smith on Relationship Building. They have spoken to us at MOPS in the past, and we have always had great group discussions afterwards!

Also this week, please bring in any donations you have for our Mother's Day brunch gift baskets. Some of our groups didn't get a chance to decide on basket themes yet, but any items you may have already purchased can easily be distributed into the baskets. We will collect again at our next April meeting, so there's still time.

If you know of any businesses that would like to donate to MOPS for our brunch giveaways, please see me for a donation receipt if they need one!

MOPS Meeting March 17th

Just a reminder that we are meeting this Wednesday, March 17th from 9-11 am.
The Heavenly Bodies are hosting refreshments and cleanup this week.

Alyson Martorano will be our speaker this week, as a follow-up to the discussions we had from our recent speaker Cynthia Canaday in January.

Also this week, we are holding our Winter Clothing Closet Blowout. Please take as many clothing items as you can- bring a couple of bags with you!! Take for yourself, friends/family or anyone you know in need. We would like to clean out the winter items to get ready for our spring clothes.

Along with the Winter Blowout, we will be having our SWAP DAY. Feel free to bring in toys or household items to swap- nothing broken please! This is a great way to recycle and give your items a new home, and also a nice way to find fun "new" items you might need without having to spend any money. We would ask that before you leave, if you see any of your items still left behind, to please take them back home with you or drop them off to whichever local charity you can, since the church cannot store these items. Thanks!!

MOPS, March 3, 2010

Our next MOPS Meeting is Wednesday, March 3rd, from 9-11 am. (Reminder: We will be meeting back in the sanctuary, in the main area of the church.)

The Super Novas will be hosting and providing our refreshments, as well as taking care of cleanup this week. We'd appreciate any extra hands!

We will be having the Town of Ulster Police with us as our speakers, going over Child Safety. It should be a great topic with good information and discussion time afterwards.

Looking forward to seeing you all after such a long time, weather permitting!!

***NOTE: After much consideration by our steering, we have taken down the Free Table and will be replacing it with occasional SWAP DAYS. Please do not bring in any items other than clothing. We will be having a SWAP DAY on March 17th where you will be able to bring in items besides clothing to exchange. Thank you!!!

MOPS Update- Free Table and Clothing Closet

Effective immediately, we will no longer be having a FREE TABLE at each MOPS Meeting. Although some moms have been able to take advantage of the items, many items are not being used/taken, and many of the toys and items are being left behind at the church. The church is not able to store these items or disperse them each week to the appropriate venues.

We are asking that moms do not bring anymore items OTHER THAN CLOTHING. We will continue the clothing closet as we have done in the past. The best way to pass on your toys and items each week, would be to bring them directly to Salvation Army, Goodwill, People's Place, etc.

In place of the Free Table, we will have pre-arranged SWAP DAYS where moms can bring in toys/items to swap with each other. These will be announced ahead of time so you have plenty of time to look through your items at home. This will be a fun and easy way to manage what is coming in and out of the church.

Our FIRST SWAP DAY is March 17th, along with our Winter Clothing Closet Blowout. We want you to take AS MANY CLOTHES AS YOU WANT! TAKE CLOTHES FOR YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TOO!!! Bring a bag with you:)) This will help us get ready for Spring and help us all to clean some things out.

MOPS Meeting, February 17th

Our Next MOPS Meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 17th.

The Satellite Sisters will be hosting this week and will be taking care of refreshments and cleanup. I'm sure they would appreciate your help if you are able!

We will be hearing from Wes and Karen Smith this week on "Relationship Building".

Our Steering team has given it some thought, and we have decided to move our meetings back to the main sanctuary of the church.
We will no longer be meeting in the Fellowship Hall. Thanks for your patience while we figured out these logistics!

THE BIG GAME

Grace Community Church will be hosting for the first time ever, "THE BIG GAME", this Sunday, February 7th. Please spread the word to any men in your life that love to watch football and like to hang out with the guys and eat some free wings!!

Doors will be open at 5PM. Start of game is right around 6. It will run until the game is over. If people want to bring snack related food that would be appreciated but not necessary.

This is open to anyone, so pass it on!

Also coming up this week, in response to the earthquake and devastation in Haiti, our steering team would like to give MOPS moms the opportunity to be a part of helping those in need during this difficult time.

We will be collecting money THIS WEEK ONLY to be designated to Samaritan's Purse Ministries (The charity we use for Operation Christmas Child). Cash should be placed in an envelope and/or checks made out to Grace Community Church with a designation made on the envelope that this is to go to Earth Quake Response - Samaritan's Purse. All money will be collected at each table by the end of the meeting and brought to the church office to be added to the church's donation that has also been collected.

Thank you all for considering what we can do to give, even if it is just lifting these people up in prayer!

The Christmas Brunch

COOKIES for MOPPET Workers – We are asking EACH MOM to please bring 1 dozen homemade cookies to be shared with our hard working childcare workers.

COOKIE EXCHANGE – If you would like to participate, please bring an additional 2 dozen homemade cookies marked with your name on them, in a separate container from the cookies for the MOPPET Workers. If you would like your cookie container back be sure to label it as well.

PLEASE have your food items at the church by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

You will be able to drive up near the entrance of the church on Wed. morning and someone will meet you at your car to carry in your food items for you.
If you are unable to have your food items at the church by 9am, please arrange to bring it in the day before by contacting your Group Leader.

Our Speaker will be Ruth Stucki.

We still need to collect money for the “Operation Christmas Child” shoe boxes. (A shipping fee of $7 for each shoe box.) Please bring donations to the meeting on Wednesday.

Look for the sign-up sheets at this Wednesday’s meeting to come early and help with the kitchen on December 2nd for the Christmas Brunch.

MOPS Meeting - September 16th

Welcome Back!

The first MOPS Meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 16th – 9:00 am at Grace Community Church.

· The MOPPETS Rosters are already set for returning children. Find the age-appropriate room for your child and check the roster for his/her name. Please go directly to the room with your child and sign him/her in as we did throughout last year.

· We are looking for a little help. Would you be interested in helping with Hospitality? Jobs you may sign up to help out with are: setting up on Tuesdays (approximately 1 hour), being available to greet moms & hand out raffle tickets, helping in the kitchen and with coffee at the beginning of meetings, cleanup during actual MOPS meetings. Speak to your group leader if you can help us in any of these areas!

· Please feel free to bring a friend. (Any Mom who has a child—infant to kindergarten age—is eligible for MOPS.)
